رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana thalamna anfusana wa-in lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina al-khasireen.
Translation: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

2. Dua for Distress (Prophet Yunus)
The "Dua Yunus" recited while he was in the belly of the whale; it is known for removing grief and hardship.
لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
Transliteration: La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu mina ath-thalimeen.
Translation: "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

3. Dua for Ease & Speech (Prophet Musa)
Musa (Moses) recited this when commanded to face Pharaoh, asking for clarity and strength.
رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِى يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى
Transliteration: Rabbi ishrahl lee sadree, Wayassir lee amree, Wahlul 'uqdatan min lisanee, Yafqahoo qawlee.
Translation: "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech."

4. Dua for Success in Both Worlds
One of the most comprehensive and frequently recited Duas in the Quran.
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Transliteration: Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa-fil-akhirati hasanatan waqina 'athaban-nar.
Translation: "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

5. Dua for Patience & Firmness
Recited by the believers when facing a daunting trial or enemy.
رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wathabbit aqdamana wansurna 'alal-qawmil-kafireen.
Translation: "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

6. Dua for Family & Progeny
A beautiful prayer for a righteous and peaceful household.
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Transliteration: Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wathurriyyatina qurrata a'yunin waj'alna lil-muttaqeena imama.
Translation: "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."

7. Dua for Knowledge

رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا
Transliteration: Rabbi zidnee 'ilma.
Translation: "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

8. Dua for Parents
A beautiful prayer taught by Allah to show gratitude and seek mercy for one’s parents.
رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيرًا
Transliteration: Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheera.
Translation: "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

9. Dua for Protection from Evil

رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
Transliteration: Rabbi a'oothu bika min hamazatish-shayateen. Wa-a'oothu bika rabbi ay-yahduroon.
Translation: "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me."

10. Dua for Acceptance of Deeds (Prophet Ibrahim)
Recited by Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ismail (Ishmael) while building the Kaaba.
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Transliteration: Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas-samee'ul-'aleem.
Translation: "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing."

11. Dua for Steadfastness (The People of the Cave)
The prayer of the youth who sought Allah's protection and guidance in a time of persecution.
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
Transliteration: Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahayyi' lana min amrina rashada.
Translation: "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance."

12. Dua for Healing (Prophet Ayyub)
Prophet Ayyub (Job) turned to Allah with these words during his years of severe illness.
أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Transliteration: Annee massaniyad-durru wa-anta arhamur-rahimeen.
Translation: "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the most merciful of the merciful."

13. Dua for Forgiveness & Protection

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Translation: "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

14. Dua for Guidance of the Heart

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
Transliteration: Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka antal-wahhab.
Translation: "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower."

15. Dua for Provision and Success (Prophet Isa)
The prayer offered by Jesus (peace be upon him) for sustenance and blessings from the Heavens.
رَبَّنَآ أَنزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةً مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًا لِّأَوَّلِنَا وَءَاخِرِنَا وَءَايَةً مِّنكَ ۖ وَٱرْزُقْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana anzil 'alayna ma'idatan minas-sama'i takoonu lana 'eedan li'awwalina wa-akhirina wa-ayatan minka warzuqna wa-anta khayrur-raziqeen.
Translation: "O Allah, our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers
— Surah Al-Ma'idah [5:114]
16. Dua for Mercy and Forgiveness
A prayer recited by those who believe, seeking Allah's ultimate pardon and kindness.
رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana amanna faghfir lana warhamna wa-anta khayrur-rahimeen.
Translation: "Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful."

17. Dua for a Good Entry and Exit (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)
A prayer for sincerity and divine support in all new beginnings and endings.
رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِى مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِى مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَٱجْعَل لِّى مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَٰنًا نَّصِيرًا
Transliteration: Rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala sidqin wa-akhrijnee mukhraja sidqin waj'al lee min ladunka sultanan naseera.
Translation: "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."

18. Dua for Protection from Hellfire
The prayer of the "Servants of the Most Merciful" (Ibad-ur-Rahman) seeking safety from the punishment.
رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
Transliteration: Rabbana isrif 'anna 'athaba jahannama inna 'athabaha kana gharama.
Translation: "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering."

19. Dua of the Believers (The End of Al-Baqarah)
A profound prayer for ease and forgiveness, acknowledging our human limitations.
رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا
Transliteration: Rabbana la tu'akhithna in naseena aw akhta'na. Rabbana wala tahmil 'alayna isran kama hamaltahu 'alal-latheena min qablina.
Translation: "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us."
— Surah Al-Baqarah [2:286]
20. Dua for Gratitude (Prophet Sulaiman)
A prayer to remain grateful for Allah's favors and to perform righteous deeds.
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَٰلِحًا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbi awzi'nee an ashkura ni'matakal-latee an'amta 'alayya wa-'ala walidayya wa-an a'mala salihan tardhahu wa-adkhilnee birahmatika fee 'ibadikas-saliheen.
Translation: "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

21. Dua for Loneliness and Progeny (Prophet Zakariya)
The heartfelt plea of Zakariya (Zechariah) for a righteous heir.
رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbi la tatharnee fardan wa-anta khayrul-waritheen.
Translation: "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while You are the best of inheritors."

22. Dua for a Blessed Home (Prophet Nuh)

رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًا مُّبَٰرَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan wa-anta khayrul-munzileen.
Translation: "My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us]."

Translation: "My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us]."

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةً لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana la taj'alna fitnatan lil-qawmith-thalimeen. Wanajjina birahmatika minal-qawmil-kafireen.
Translation: "Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people. And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people."
— Surah Yunus [10:85-86]

رَبَّنَآ أَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Transliteration: Rabbana atmim lana noorana waghfir lana innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer.
Translation: "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent."
— Surah At-Tahrim [66:8]

Translation: "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent."

25. Dua for Sincerity in Prayer (Prophet Ibrahim)
A request to remain constant and sincere in the establishment of prayer.
رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ
Transliteration: Rabbij-'alnee muqeemas-salati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wataqabbal du'a'.
Translation: "My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication."
— Surah Ibrahim 14:40

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ
Transliteration: Rabbij-'alnee muqeemas-salati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wataqabbal du'a'.
Translation: "My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication."

26. Dua for Divine Support (Prophet Lut)
A plea for help against those who spread corruption.
رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbinsurnee 'alal-qawmil-mufsideen.
Translation: "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."
— Surah Al-Ankabut 29:30
A plea for help against those who spread corruption.
رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbinsurnee 'alal-qawmil-mufsideen.
Translation: "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

27. Dua for Seeking Justice
The prayer of Prophet Shu'ayb when facing his people, putting his trust in Allah's judgment.
رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ
Transliteration: Rabbana-ftah baynana wabayna qawmina bil-haqqi wa-anta khayrul-fatiheen.
Translation: "Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."

Transliteration: Rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer.
Translation: "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."

رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ

Translation: "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."

Dua from Hadith
The Protocol for Accepted Dua.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that a person should not rush directly into their request, but should follow a specific order:
Praise Allah (Hamd) — Surah Al-Fatihah is the greatest form of praise.
Send Blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ (Salawat).
Ask for what you need.
The Reference: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man supplicating in his prayer and he did not glorify Allah, nor did he send Salat upon the Prophet ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This one has rushed.' Then he called him and said... 'When one of you prays, let him begin with glorification of his Lord and praise for Him, then let him send Salat upon the Prophet ﷺ, then let him ask for whatever he wishes thereafter.'"

The Dua of the Greatest Name (Al-Ism al-A'zam)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man saying: "Allahumma inni as'aluka bi-anni ashhadu annaka antallahu la ilaha illa antal-ahadus-samadul-ladhi lam yalid wa lam yoolad wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad."
The Prophet ﷺ said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, which if He is called by it, He responds, and if He is asked by it, He gives."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a man saying: "Allahumma inni as'aluka bi-anni ashhadu annaka antallahu la ilaha illa antal-ahadus-samadul-ladhi lam yalid wa lam yoolad wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad."
The Prophet ﷺ said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, which if He is called by it, He responds, and if He is asked by it, He gives." — Jami` at-Tirmidhi, 3475 (Sahih)
1. The Best Prayer for Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)
The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies that night (or vice versa) will enter Paradise.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Translation: "O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I ent
reat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You."

2. Dua for Anxiety, Sorrow, and Debt
A comprehensive prayer the Prophet ﷺ used to recite to seek relief from mental and physical burdens.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ
Translation: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men."

3. Dua for Guidance, Piety, and Contentment
One of the most concise yet powerful prayers for a believer's character and well-being.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى
